Poorly Cited

I was delegated by the dean of the faculty I work at, to edit some bachelor thesis into journal articles. By far, finished three out of nine. And I am completely astounded by how much copying and pasting put in their work. Like... it was fully loaded with words of other, and claimed just like that in a thesis entitled to a student. It is sad.

I do not know if it just a mindless citation, laziness, or what. But come on, you know it's wrong right?
I mean, I remember all those sleepless nights working on my bachelor thesis. In order to get it examined,  I had  to
1. Consult my teacher in other country about the documentary I was about to make as a treatment on an experimental.
2. Gather proper samples from another department
3. Save  money to pay the respondent, for I wanted to take about 3 hours if their time
4. Translate the documentary, since it did not have any Indonesian translation
5. Invite the respondents to a laboratory
6. Analyze the results with spss which was totally new for me
7. Make narratives out of the results
8. So much correct citing (we have to underline this!)
9. Endless consultation with supervisor

Not  to mention my master thesis, it was just full of fatigues and tears. I could not explain a little better than that. How much effort have you give to your work? How did this all happen?
Don't you love what you do (read: research)? Don't you know when you admit to be a student, you vow to study, to serve the community and to do research?
Or do you only care about the diploma paper that prove that you are highly educated? If so, I am sorry to tell you that even a primary student, could do what you did.

So sad.
