Pride & Prejudice

Both the movie and the book are all about the five Bennet sisters take place in old-fashioned England. They have all been raised by their mother with one purpose in life: finding a husband. But, the second eldest Elizabeth Bennet, called Lizzi, precisely, can think of hundred reasons not to marry.

Some day, Mrs Bennet exclame that no longer, a young-rich gentleman who taken Netherfield, Mr Bingley, will visit the village. This is the good chance to made acquaintance her daughters with Mr Bingley.

Then at the ball, Mr Bingley comes with another four people Mr. and Mrs Hurst, Miss Bingley and the gentleman who pronunced as the fine figure of man, darkly handsome and snobbish, and soon declared handsomer than Mr. Bingley, the gentleman is Fitzwilliam Darcy.

That was the first time Mr. Darcy staring a pair of fine eyes, the eye which belong to Lizzi. The woman he finally appointed as the handsomest ladiest in his acquaintance.

But the truths drag down Lizzi to prejudice to Mr. Darcy. His pride, his manners. Howcome, he ‘save’ Mr Bingley - as a loyal companion - from marrying Jane Bennet, Lizzi’s older sister. And the fact that Mr Darcy is the one who brought down Mr Wickham to proverty. All, made Lizzi interpret that Mr Darcy was the last man in the world whom she could be prevailed to marry.

Unforgivable thought of her, when later she face the condition where Mr Darcy pronounce: “In vain I have struggled. I will not do. My feeling will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire you and love you.”

After all the refusal, He was totally patient wait till the time. Fixing the prejudices of him. He save Lydia from scandal marriage with Wickham. He converse to Mr Bingley, and assuring him to come back where Jane Bennet belong. An action that perfeclty sealed but not sealed enaugh to Lizzi find out.

What, Mr Darcy done, made Lizzi facing the turning point of her prejudice of Mr Darcy. Moreover, her admiraton increasingly. Her pride decrease. And hoping someday, Mr Darcy make renewal of his proposal.

And, absolutely, the end of the movie as what Lizzi wondering for, and us.

Afterwards, I’m googling for the keyword “Pride & Prejudice”. And fortunately, I finally found the PDF file of the book, in english (you might visit the site and try for your fortune: site.girlebooks.com) . And I’ve finished read it last night(forthis post, i mean 2 months ago). Perhaps, that’s why I write this review in english too. There's something about Jane Austen's writing style. Oprah says them honesty, sincerity. And i'm kinda love it. Well then… []
